Multi-vehicle car accident in Tennessee injured several

Whenever cars are within a certain proximity, there may an increased risk of a car accident. After an initial car accident, more vehicles could become involved if their drivers are unable to regain or maintain control. A recent multi-vehicle car accident occurred on a Tennessee roadway in Murfreesboro and left several injured.

The accident occurred as a Dodge Caravan operated by a 34-year-old driver struck another vehicle. The Caravan then went across the lane of traffic and hit an oncoming car. The crash happened at just about 6:30 a.m.

In all, four people needed medical attention as a result of the collisions. Two of the drivers, including the driver of the Dodge Caravan, needed to be transported by air to a hospital. The other driver who needed to be airlifted was a 57-year-old woman. Two other passengers were taken to an area hospital also.

Whenever a multi-vehicle car accident leaves injured victims, the ensuing investigation may take some time to complete. If the evidence suggests that one or more of the drivers negligently caused or contributed to the crash, seriously injured victims may pursue civil claims for financial relief in a Tennessee civil court. If it is established by appropriate proof that the injuries were caused by the negligence of another party to the collision, a judgment for monetary damages may be awarded. Restitution granted in a civil case could help the victims deal with the financial reality of medical bills and other financial losses occasioned by the collision and injuries that resulted.
