Truck accident on Tennessee highway pins man in car

Driving on the highways in the vicinity of tractor-trailers can be intimidating and even dangerous. The sheer size and weight of a semi-truck can spell disaster when the rules of the road are not adhered to. For one driver involved in a truck accident in Tennessee, surviving being pinned inside his smaller car was described as lucky by those who reported the story.

A 49-year-old man was driving a tractor-trailer loaded with lawn mowers on the highway on a Thursday morning. He was in the center lane when he attempted to merge into the left-hand lane. As he did, his truck hit the barrier and it crushed a Camry that had been traveling in the left-hand lane.

The 52-year-old man in the Camry needed to be pulled from the wreckage. His car was described as a hunk of metal that was unrecognizable. He was transported to a medical facility and later released. The driver of the tractor-trailer faces charges for his role in the truck accident.

The victim in this truck accident may have a medical bill to contend with as a result. Even though his injuries were listed as minor, those injuries could lead to more problems, flare up over time or lead to worsening of a condition. Situations like these can also lead to victims missing work or needing medical attention at a later time. In a situation where a truck accident leads to charges against a truck driver, those who were injured may be able to pursue civil action in a Tennessee civil court. A successful civil claim could help the victim garner damages or a settlement that can help alleviate any financial costs the truck accident may have led to.
