The most popular church group vans are also the most dangerous

This vehicle is practically synonymous with church youth groups and evangelistic groups in small local churches: The ubiquitous 15-passenger van. Most of us see these vans frequently, filled with high schoolers and youth ministers on canoe trips and other activities.

Do NOT Buy 15-Passenger Vans For Your Church Group

Although these vans are very common and very popular among church youth groups, they are extremely dangerous. It is important to avoid these vans, as they have a tendency to roll over with alarming suddenness and frequency.

Why Are These Vans So Popular?

In short, 15-passenger vans are very cheap and have the ideal features for many small church groups. Being a little larger than most standard vans, they can carry more people for church-based events.

But why are these vans so cheap? The answer is that most people know that these vehicles are dangerous. In fact, production had to stop on these vehicles a number of years ago and mass recalls were attempted because they are so dangerous.

A Recent Tragedy

The Courier Journal posted recently about a tragic accident. Three passengers died and several others were seriously injured in a 15-passenger van rollover in southwest Missouri last month while going on a church youth group rafting trip.

This is just one more instance of these vans being bought up by church groups because of their attractive cost and features, only to be faced with severe tragedy as these vehicles do what they so commonly do: roll over.

Make Smart Choices

At the Gold Law Firm, we want to get the word out to church groups throughout the country. Youth ministers, pastors, church finance people: Please think twice before purchasing a 15-passenger van for your church groups. Although the low price is attractive, it is not worth the risk.

If your church group has been involved in a rollover accident with a 15-passenger van, you should contact a lawyer right away to learn about your rights and options.
