Drunk driving potentially involved in fatal crash

Many people in Tennessee have a heightened awareness about the dangers of drunk driving during the New Year's holiday time. This risk, however, is also prevalent during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday time as people commonly attend family gatherings, business parties and other social functions where alcohol is served as part of the holiday merriment. They then get in their cars or other vehicles and attempt to drive home safely.

One man today may be facing criminal charges for what some reports indicate was an act of drunk driving that left two people dead and more hurt. The incident happened two days before Christmas in the early evening. While driving on Wesley Chapel Road near Lawrenceburg, the man came to a stop sign at the intersection with US 64. Unfortunately he did not stop at the sign but kept driving into the intersection.

His truck then hit a car with three people inside. The two passengers were declared dead at the scene of the crash. No details were provided on the nature of their injuries. The driver of the car that was hit as well as the potential drunk driver and a young child who was in his truck all experienced injuries as a result of the impact.

Family members who are forced to mourn the loss of their loved ones due to the negligence of another person might find talking with an attorney in Tennessee helpful at these times.
