Even when all parties on the road are abiding by the rules of the road, there is still the potential for a traffic accident. Intersections are a common place for car accidents to occur. Recently, in Tennessee, a car accident at an intersection took the life of one of the drivers involved.
The accident occurred as a 19-year-old driver was getting ready to cross an intersection and go straight through. As she did so, another driver came along in a pickup truck and made a left-hand turn. This placed that driver directly into the path of the 19-year-old.
The cars collided and the driver of the pickup truck was ejected from his vehicle. He was a 50-year-old man. There were witness reports that contend that the lights for both vehicles were green as they came upon the intersection. They also said the lights changed to yellow right before the crash. The pickup truck driver died as a result of his injuries, and the other driver was taken to a hospital for what were described as non-life threatening injuries.
There is currently an investigation into the car accident. If an investigation can pinpoint a party who was negligent in some regard, the other party or the family of that party may have cause to file a complaint in a Tennessee civil court. Whenever there is a car accident resulting in injuries, any kind of investigation can be a useful tool in preparing a civil complaint that may be necessary to obtain much needed damages.
