Car accident occurs at Tennessee intersection

When drivers are traveling on roadways, they typically have a certain amount of faith that other drivers are going to abide by the rules of the road. This is actually for the safety of everyone on the roads. Any kind of intersection can be a particularly dangerous place for drivers, especially if another driver disregards the rules of the road at any time. One Tennessee intersection became the scene of a car accident recently.

The accident occurred on a Thursday, early in the evening. A silver car on the scene was trying to make a turn. Reportedly, a pickup truck ran a red light at the intersection, causing the vehicles to collide.

Both drivers needed medical attention for the injuries that ensued. The exact nature of the injuries or their extent was not reported. However, police did report that the driver of the silver car had some sort of head injury. There is an investigation into the accident at this time.

While no specific citation was reported, when a driver runs a red light and a car accident occurs as a result, those suffering injuries have legal rights in Tennessee. In this instance, the driver of the car may have cause to file civil action against the driver and owner of the pickup truck for any serious injuries caused by the collision. This action, if successful, may help in securing the monetary damages needed to help deal with the cost of recovery or any medical bills related to the car accident.
