Car accident takes life of Tennessee man

Any kind of car accident on the roadway at night can be devastating for the people involved and lead to any number of injuries for all. However, any injuries from a head-on car accident can be much more severe than in a simple fender bender. A recent head-on car accident in Tennessee resulted in the death of one of the victims whose vehicle was hit by an SUV.

The incident happened as a 17-year-old was driving on a state highway around 8:30 p.m. He was headed north when he crossed over the center line for some reason. He ended up hitting a CRX that was by a 25-year-old man.

That CRX driver was killed in the accident. A female passenger in his vehicle, said to be 22 years old, sustained injuries. The exact nature of her injuries is unknown. The teenage driver who apparently caused the crash was cited by police for not exercising care. It is unclear if he might face any other charges.

Regardless of the outcome of the proceedings initiated against the young driver, the family of the man who died as a result of this head-on car accident may have other avenues to pursue. They may have cause to file a civil complaint in a Tennessee civil court to seek recovery of monetary damages sustained as a result of the tragedy. Moreover, the injured passenger also has the right to commence a personal injury action seeking similar relief. If successful, any damages awarded could help the family of the deceased victim and/or the injured passenger as they may now face bills and lost wages related to the accident.
