Driver found guilty in deadly Tennessee car wreck

When people are inside a restaurant or any kind of establishment, they probably never think about being in danger of getting hit by a car. However, one Tennessee car wreck proves that an accident can happen and affect the lives of people even if they are nowhere near the road. The accident occurred as a man plowed through a restaurant and took the life of a woman who was inside.

A 53-year-old man was behind the wheel when his car went speeding through a parking lot. The car crashed through a wall of the restaurant. A 58-year-old woman was standing at a counter as her husband had walked away. She was pinned under the car and died as a result.

The driver was found to be negligent because he has multiple sclerosis and was not supposed to be operating a vehicle. The medical condition would prevent him from having control over his muscles and therefore, be unable to safely drive a car. He was sentenced to a diversion program, meaning he will serve no jail time for deadly car wreck.

The family of the woman who died as result of this car wreck is seeking civil action against the driver in a Tennessee civil court. If successful, they could receive a monetary settlement that could assist them in dealing with any financial ramifications of the accident. Anyone in the midst of a civil suit in Tennessee may benefit from documenting their exact loses and knowing their rights under the law.
