3 vehicle car accident takes life of driver, injures others

Having several cars traveling in close proximity can increase the chance of a collision. If any vehicle on the road loses control for just a moment, there may be a car accident as a result. One recent crash in Tennessee occurred as a driver of a pickup truck lost control of his vehicle.

The accident happened on a Tuesday night as the 22-year-old pickup truck driver was headed eastbound. His pickup reportedly fishtailed and collided with an SUV. After that initial collision, a small car struck the SUV as well.

The pickup truck driver needed to be transported from the scene via helicopter. He died due to the severity of his injuries a few days after the crash. The two people in the SUV, a 49-year-old and a 43-year-old, were transported from the scene due to their injuries. They were both said to be in critical condition. Police stated that the pickup driver’s failure to stay in his own lane was the initial cause of the three vehicle accident.

The couple in critical condition may have a long road to recovery ahead of them. They may also have to deal with extensive medical bills. Although the driver who was initially pegged as the cause of the car accident passed away as a result, there may still the possibility of legal action. In Tennessee, an injured victim may take civil action against the estate of a deceased party that was deemed responsible for causing a car accident and resulting injuries. The couple in this case may be able to pursue civil action and possibly be awarded damages to help them deal with the financial losses accrued due to this tragedy.
